Government and Academic Members shall include members or employees of state and federal departments, regulatory bodies, or other entities that are qualified for membership by their current positions in state or federal government or related agencies, and persons or entities associated with accredited institutions of higher education that possess an interest in, or expertise about, electric transmission operations or engineering, economic, or public policy matters related to transmission or power system operations. Academic Members may choose to be Associate Members.
